Where's Bill?
2009 offered an opportunity to reach several goals: to
complete a cross country ride through the South--once again from the Pacific
to Atlantic coasts. This year it's I-10 from Santa Monica, CA to
Jacksonville, FL. That's goal one.
From there
it's south to the Southeast corner of the USA--marking the completion of
riding the Harley solo to all four corners of the country. That's
another goal. Then it's up the east coast to Atlantic City to meet US 30 and complete another to "box"
America. On the way back it's a meandering route to
touch the remaining states to complete rides through all 48 continental
states. Along the way there'll be side trips to the
Natchez Trace in Mississippi; the "Tail of the Dragon" on the North
Carolina/Tennessee border; Branson, MO, to meet Bill Mahnkey a Navy
shipmate; Topeka, KS, to hook up with another friend, Jon Janes; and
finally, US 34 out of Loveland, CO, the highest paved road in the USA.
This trip there's one addition--video. Whenever possible, Bill will
shoot some video to give you a better feel for America and American
motorcycling. (You'll need the latest version of Quick Time media
player to view these--and allow pop-up windows.)
