Surf Spots
Review & Photos by Bill Polick

Getting into the water is easy.  Getting out can lead to a trip to the emergency room if it's boomin'.

Inexperienced surfers: this is NOT the place for you!

Look out from the top of the cliff and enjoy the sight of sets that break decently from 3-15 feet.  Short board or long, Garbage, and numerous other breaks along the west edge of Point Loma in San Diego, can be challenging at the least, awe inspiring at the best.

Climb down the stairs (if you climb down a cliff, keep the cell phone handy so Cliff Rescue can get there), time the surge and jump in.

Get some awesome rides, left or right, then carefully (VERY, especially at high tide with a swell running) time the surge so it dumps you on the rocky ledge.  Haul butt to the stairs or get creamed by the next wave!

'Nuff said.
